Colonial times, cycling around these, as you cycle you will see a cavalcade of life pass around you. There is a tradition of newspaper vendors and milkmen – “livelihood cyclists” – who depend on sturdy, black locally made bikes to go about their daily businesses. You get to see exactly that while on the tour!
Starting as early as 6:30 A.M, we cover all the tourist landmarks but of course, peddling away on our two wheels! The ride appropriately starts with the Gateway of India, the emblem of Mumbai tourism. This victory arch was built to welcome the British Queen to the city, and it’s only befitting to have it as our very first stop. Right opposite, you will see the famous domed Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, which has hosted the likes of Barack Obama, the Beatles and a host of other celebrities in its century old lifetime.
Post which we will walk past the Royal Mumbai Yacht Club, the Police Headquarters, the NGMA and the city museum. En-route, we will stumble upon the Kala Ghoda area, which is the known as the Art area of Mumbai. After clicking a few cool selfies at the romantic Marine Drive sea face promenade and the grand Victoria Terminus station, we end the tour with a well-deserved, hearty breakfast meal at a local restaurant within the South precinct.
